Perminder was born and raised in the Fraser Valley region and is passionate about his roots in Surrey, BC. He completed his undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University in 2004. He mved away and obtained his Bachelor of Laws at the University of Windsor (2008) and Juris Doctor, cum laude from the University of Detroit (2008). British Columbia weather and family brought him back to the West Coast in 2008.

Ever an active member of the community, Perminder is cares deeply about helping at-risk youth and accelerating opportunities for gifted, but sometimes disadvantaged youth. He can often be found speaking at Community Events and High Schools to encourage young people to reach for the stars.  His passion project is to create a Community Foundation, supported by local professionals, which will serve the youth of the Fraser Valley and beyond. Professionally, he is also active in the legal community.  Perminder was appointed by the Minister of Health to serve on the Board of Governors of the College of Massage Therapists of BC. He served in that capacity from 2012 to 2018 and was a judicial member of the Discipline Sub-Committee.  He also served on Provincial Council for Westminster County with the Canadian Bar Association from 2011 to 2015.  He was President of the South Asian Bar Association from 2016 to 2018 and has been active mentoring emerging lawyers and law students.
